Join Zbigniew Oksiuta for a maker demonstration of small scale gelatin models. These models are miniature representations of larger scale works Oksiuta is known for creating. This workshop will prepare students to manually work with liquids, gels, gases and for chemical and physical experiments, and create dynamic, biological membranes. Parallel to a theoretical introduction, participants will be able individually produce small 3D membranes using plastic hemispheres and latex balloons.
Practical experiments behavior of liquids
Shaping of film models
Shaping of minimal surfaces
Shaping closed 3D systems: bubbles and membranes
Injection of living organisms inside.
Using biological polymers as construction material
Practical studies of transformations different state of mater: from liquids (jelly-like to rigid) and vice-versa.
